OTT Users Alert! Amazon Prime hikes membership fee for its plans in India

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the OTT subscriptions in India has seen a massive hike. It is quite important to note that Amazon Prime membership in India has been hiked. Now users have to shell more money in every plan of the OTT platform.

According to the support page of Amazon, the monthly price of Amazon Prime has increased to Rs 179. On the other hand, the much popular quarterly plan will cost around Rs 459. Post the price hike, the yearly plan of Amazon Prime will cost Rs 1499.

For those who are unaware of the prices of Amazon Prime membership, the monthly subscription (30 days) is Rs 129. On the other hand, the quarterly subscription costs Rs 329. Users are charged with Rs 999 for the annual plan. However, if you are thinking that the sudden rise in the membership prices will affect your present plan, then you are wrong. There is no relation between your current plan and the price hike. Your current plan will be valid till its expiry date. Post the expiry date, the user will be charged according to the new plan rates.

It is important to note that Amazon Prime Members are entitled to one-day delivery, Prime Video and Prime Music. The Prime Video offers include thousands of movies, TV shows, and Amazon Originals in multiple languages. On the other hand, Amazon Music provides access to 70 million songs ad-free. The Prime users are also entitled to Prime Early Access to sale events, new product launches, and Lightning Deals.
