OnePlus 9RT Review: Better camera and good battery life

Chinese mobile manufacturing company OnePlus has made a place for itself on the global market with its premium smartphones in just a few years. OnePlus has snatched the top spot in high-end smartphone market of India.

OnePlus recently launched a new flagship smartphone -­ OnePlus 9RT in the home market. OnePlus 9RT comes with a Color OS instead of the Hydrogen OS/ Oxygen OS. OnePlus 9RT is the first phone to be released after the company was integrated into OPPO.

Let’s take a look at what makes OnePlus 9RT different from other phones.

The OnePlus 9RT comes in three colour options– silver, dark matter, blue sky boundary.

OnePlus 9RT comes with a straight 6.62-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 × 1080p, support for 120Hz refresh rate, 600Hz touch sampling rate, 1300nit local peak brightness, support for HDR10+, 10,000-level dimming, dual front and rear light sensing, sRGB display, P3 color gamut, and other features.

The phone has a punch-hole at the upper left corner. It has a straight screens, which reduces the chances of a wrong touch while playing a game.

The icon and text clarity is said to have improved by 100% with the help of a technology called sub-pixel rendering map.

ColorOS 12 OS

OnePlus 9RT comes pre-installed with ColorOS 12 based on Android 11. The overall style is similar to Hydrogen OS. It has the same App icons, time display retains a unique red as Hydrogen OS.

ColorOS 12 supports cross-screen interconnection that means user can project the content displayed by the phone to the PC side.

The game mode has been improved, the upper left corner slide to open the game shortcut bar, in addition to some common functions, OnePlus 9RT has extreme stable frame function which helps to further stabilize the game frame rate.

Snapdragon 888 processor

OnePlus 9RT is powered with Snapdragon 888 processor, with LDDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 flash memory.

OnePlus 9RT scored 787737 in AnTuTu Benchmark, which belongs to the normal performance of the Snapdragon 888 models.

The company has claimed that cooling efficiency in OnePlus 9RT has increased by 20% with the large VC, thickened graphite plate, 11 copper carbon.

Camera

OnePlus 9RT has triple camera rear setup including a 50-megapixel main camera that has IMX766, OIS optical stabilization, a 16-megapixel 123° ultra-wide-angle, and a 2-megapixel 4cm macro lens.

The main camera is improved compared to the OnePlus 9R, but the macro lens is reduced to 2-megapixel.

In terms of features, the OnePlus 9RT has a new night eagle night scene algorithm, as well as a 100-megapixel superpixel algorithm.

4500mAh Battery and 65T fast charging

OnePlus 9RT is equipped with a 4500mAh battery with 65T wired fast charging support.

The stress test is a built-in feature of the AnTuTu review, which tests the stability of the device’s performance by performing high-load calculations, requiring the CPU to perform a large number of calculations, so the power consumption is greater compared to videos, daily use, and other scenarios.

Test conditions: No SIM card inserted, device connected to Wi-Fi, positioning turned on, fully charged, screen brightness turned to the highest, and all background services turned off. Open AnTuTu stress test, uninterrupted test, record the remaining power of the device every 30 minutes.

Under the stress test of AnTuTu, the OnePlus 9RT persisted for 230 minutes, which is a surprise, knowing that this is a model with Snapdragon 888 and 4500mAh battery. This is far better than other phones with same processor and battery.

OnePlus 9RT took 28 minutes to charge to 100 per cent, out of which it took 10 minutes to charge 49 per cent of the power, which is sufficient to cope with daily use.
