OnePlus 10 Pro set to launch in January next year, Confirms Pete Lau

OnePlus Co-Founder and CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that the company’s latest offering ‘OnePlus 10 Pro’ will be launched in January under the OnePlus 10 series. The upcoming flagship phone is said to be the successor of OnePlus 9 Pro. OnePlus 10 series will also include a vanilla OnePlus 10 model.

Earlier reports have suggested that OnePlus 9 Pro will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 10 Pro is likely to feature some small differences to target a distinct range of customers, like the last OnePlus flagships.

Pete Lau made the announcement through a post on Weibo. He confirmed that OnePlus 10 Pro will be launched in January next year. However, the executive did not reveal the exact launch date in the post.

OnePlus is said to be planning a physical launch event at CES 2022 in Las Vegas on January 5 where we could see OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 10 Pro. Both phones are expected to have the recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

The new OnePlus 10 Pro is expected to arrive in the globe market including India in the first quarter of 2022, shortly after its initial launch in China.

The leaked renders of the OnePlus 10 Pro have revealed that the upcoming flagship phone will sport a large square-shaped rear camera module and may retain the zoom features of OnePlus 9 Pro. The triple camera module is tipped to headlined by a 48-megapixel primary camera.

The device is likely to feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, maximum 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The handset will pack a 5,000mAh battery. The smartphone will carry an IP68-certified build for dust and water resistance.

The upcoming smartphone may run Android 12-based OxygenOS 12. The smartphone will have OnePlus’ proprietary fast charging technology, and an alert sider at one of its sides.
