Now turn your iPhone into a walkie-talkie with this feature of Microsoft Teams

Microsoft is rolling out its Walkie Talkie feature to all users of its Microsoft Teams. With this feature, Microsoft Teams users can turn their smartphones or tablets into a walkie-talkie that works over cellular data or Wi-Fi, reported The Verge.

As per reports, the feature was originally two years ago and has been available mostly in preview ever since. Microsoft launched the feature widely on Android in September of 2020. And now, the company has announced that the feature is available for Zebra mobile devices as well as iPhones and iPads.

Microsoft has primarily introduced this at frontline workers, employees who face customer daily and run day-to-day operations inside companies. The software maker’s collaboration with Zebra Technologies makes it work with a dedicated push-to-talk button for quick and secure communications.

These devices are used widely by frontline workers, who helped the world pass through the ongoing pandemic.

The Walkie-talkie features are still rare in communications apps. For example- WhatsApp allows its users to record snippets of audio than can be sent and received while Slack launched its Discord-like Huddles feature last year that lets people drop in and out of calls easily.

Let us tell you that Apple launched its own walkie-talkie feature on the Apple Watch in 2018, using push-to-talk over a FaceTime Audio call.
