Motorola Edge 30 launched in India, first smartphone to offer Snapdragon 778G+ chipset  

Motorola has launched a new smartphone ‘Motorola Edge 30’ in the Indian market on Thursday. The Motorola Edge 30 is the latest smartphone to join the Edge 30 series and boasts to feature Snapdragon 778G+ 5G processor and 144Hz 10-bit pOLED display in the Indian market. Motorola is first to use the Snapdragon 778G+5G processor in the Indian market. The company also claims that Edge 30 is the World’s thinnest 5G smartphone.

Variants and price

The Motorola Edge 30 is offered in two storage variants which include 6GB RAM +128GB Storage and 8GB RAM +128GB Storage. While the 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 27,999, the 8GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 29,999. The device will be available for sale from 19 May on Flipkart, Reliance Digital and also at leading retail stores. However, users get an instant discount of Rs 2000, if they use HDFC Credit Card on the transaction. After the discount, users get the 6GB RAM variant at Rs 25,999 while the 8 GB RAM variant will cost Rs 27,999.

Specifications

The smartphone runs on Android 12-based My UX and sports a 6.7-inch full-HD+ OLED display, a 144Hz refresh rate, and support for HDR10+ content. The Motorola Edge 30 will also get assured upgrade to Android 13 and 14 along with security updates for 3 years.

Under the hood, the phone has an octa-core Snapdragon 778G+ processor and Adreno 642L GPU, paired with 8GB of RAM. The smartphone offers up to 256GB of inbuilt storage.

The Motorola Edge 30 flaunts a triple rear camera setup including a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2-megapixel depth camera. The smartphone sports a 32-megapixel selfie camera at the front for stunning selfies and attending video calls.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.

The Motorola Edge 30 is backed by a 4,020mAh battery with 33W TurboPower charging support. It comes with an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance. The smartphones weighs 155 grams and comes in two colour variants — Meteor Grey and Aurora Green. The device also offers stereo speakers that offer Dolby Atmos and support Snapdragon Sound.

Motorola Edge 30 comes with ThinkShield for mobile, which is designed to provide business-grade security on the device.
