Man uses AirTag to track his lost luggage, Presents PowerPoint presentation to ask airline for his bags

We are often worried about losing our luggage in the airport while going on a trip. And we face more difficult when the airline you were travelling with refuses to acknowledge your request. In this type of situation Apple AirTag comes in handy. You can locate your baggage easily by attaching an AirTag to your luggage while travelling. It has helped many people find their lost luggage or lost goods and even pets.

Now, a new incident has once again proved that AirTag is helpful in finding the lost luggage. AirTag helped in locating the bags of a man who was on his wedding trip. He even prepared a powerpoint presentation using the information from the AirTag to ask the airline for his bags.

According to reports, Elliot Sharod was traveling to UK from South Africa with his wife Helen from their wedding on April 17. They had booked flights with stopovers in Abu Dhabi and Frankfurt but due to the raging pandemic, they rescheduled their flight and headed straight to the UK. However, they could not find their luggage after they reached UK.

But, Sharod tracked the lost luggage with the help of the AirTag placed inside each bag. Using the Find My App, they found that their bags had reached Frankfurt in Germany, which was one of the two original stopovers before their flight had to be rescheduled. But, they were not put on a London-bound plane after that which caused them to not reach London.

The Are Lingus airline, in which the couple were travelling, informed them that they would short out the problem and the bags would be delivered to their home address. However, only two of the three bags arrived on their adress. Sharod reached out to the airline multiple times informing them about the missing bag on various platforms including Twitter but the airline did not respond to him. Finally, he posted videos and shared a PowerPoint with screenshots from the Find My app showing the exact location of his bag.

The images showed where the bag was – in two different places in Pimlico in Central London on April 21st, and hasn’t moved from there since April 21.

Sharod said that he has complained to the police and the bag is his wife, reported CNN. It contains wedding cards, some handwritten notes from the lodge where they stayed in South Africa, and some itineraries they made for their wedding guests. Her clothes were also there, alongside other personal items.

This incident shows that AirTags can be used to ensure that you can track your important items even if you lose them.
