Here’s how you can keep your WhatsApp chat hidden from preying eyes with Face ID

Facebook owned instant-messaging app WhatsApp is widely used in India and it has gained more popularity during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

We use the app for sending messages, photos and videos to our friends and families. Sometimes users got into trouble when their friends or siblings opens their WhatsApp chat without their permission and exposes the user’s private messages, photos or videos.

Opening a person’s chat without his/her consent is considered illegal, but many people still do that especially our friends and family.

If you are worrying about how to hide your chat from prying eyes then don’t worry, WhatsApp provides a feature with which you can keep your chat and media files confidential.

So even if someone gets access to your phone, you can rest assured that no one can read your messages.

Apple iPhone users can keep their chat and media files confidential by using the Face ID or Touch ID lock feature and the Android users can keep it hidden by using the Fingerprint lock feature.

The Face ID feature might soon be expected for the Android users.

Here’s how to enable Touch ID or Face ID:

Step 1: Open the ‘WhatsApp’ app.

Step 2: Go to Settings and tap on Account options.

Step 3: Select the Privacy and tap on Screen lock option.

Step 4: Now, enable ‘Touch ID or Face ID‘ whatever you need.

Step 5: Then, select the length of time WhatsApp can stay on standby mode before you are prompted for Touch ID or Face ID.

Here’s how to disable Touch ID or Face ID:

Step 1: Open WhatsApp Settings.

Step 2: Then, tap on Account.

Step 3: Select Privacy and tap on Screen lock.

Step 4: Now, turn off ‘Touch ID or Face ID‘ whichever you want to turn of
