Google has launched an array of products at its Made by Google event. The event witnessed the launch of the much-awaited next-generation Pixel smartphones – Pixel 9 series that includes Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL alongside the second-generation foldable Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
The price of the new Pixel 9 series, that features the latest-generation Tensor chipset and have advanced AI features, are priced starting from Rs 79,999.
Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL: Price in India
The Google Pixel 9 series including Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are priced at Rs 79,999, Rs 1,09,999 and Rs 1,24,999, respectively. All the three devices are currently available for per-orders and the sale will begin starting from August 22, 2024.
Customers can buy them online via Flipkart and offline via Croma and Reliance Retail outlets across 15 cities in India.
Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL: AI features
The Google Pixel 9 series smartphone come with an array of advanced AI features powered by Google’s Gemini large language model. The AI features include Gemini Live, Pixel Studio, Pixel screenshot, Call Notes, Clear Calling, and Pixel Weather app.
The Gemini Live AI feature enables natural, conversational interactions with AI. However, this feature is only available to Gemini Advanced subscribers.
Pixel Studio offers you a canvas for your creativity. It is a first-of-its-kind image generator that is powered by combining on-device diffusion model running on Tensor G4 and our Imagen 3 text-to-image model in the cloud for creative image generation. The Pixel Screenshots app helps organise and recall important information.
The Pixel 9 has got a exclusive Pixel Screenshots feature that helps to save, organize and recall important information from screenshots you want to remember for later.
Google also offers a new Clear Calling feature that aims to improve audio quality and a Call Notes features that provides on-device summaries and transcripts of calls with the Pixel 9 series.
The Pixel Weather app generates custom AI weather reports.
For better photography, the Google Pixel 9 series has got AI-enhanced camera features, like Magic Editor and Video Boost, ensure high-quality photos and videos.
Pixel 9: Specifications
The key specs of the Google Pixel 9 is a 6.3-inch Actua display, which is claimed to be 35% brighter than its predecessor Pixel 8, and a dual camera unit housing a 50 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide sensor. At front it has a 42 MP front camera with autofocus.
As mentioned earlier, the device is powered by the company’s latest-generation Tensor chipset Tensor G4 chip. It has up to 12GB RAM.
Google will also offer seven years of OS, Pixel Drops, and security updates for the Pixel 9.
Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL: Specifications
The Pixel 9 Pro comes packed with a 6.3-inch Super Actua display and a triple rear camera system with a 50 MP primary sensor, a 48 MP telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom, a 12 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 42 MP front camera with autofocus.
Like the Pixel 9, it is powered by the Tensor G4 chipset and comes with up to 16GB RAM.
The handset supports Gemini Live, allowing for natural conversations with Google’s AI. Like the Pixel 9, it also comes with seven years of OS, Pixel Drops, and security updates.
The Pixel 9 Pro XL comes with identical features as the Pixel 9 Pro, the only exception being the display, which is a 6.8-inch Super Actua panel instead of the 6.3-inch on Pixel 9 Pro.
Both Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL come with vapour chamber for better thermal management.
