Bhubaneswar: A team of students from the Gandhi Institute For Technology (GIFT), Bhubaneswar has recently won the National Hackathon Championship 2018 for developing a Health Care App. The App will enable seamless interaction between hospitals and patients. Users can download this Android based App available on Google Play platform in the name ‘Health care RAVI PRAKASH GUPTA’. The winning team constituted of Ravi Prakash Gupta, Ruchika Raiguru, Sonal Kumari, Shammi Gupta and SK Abdul Nasir.
National Hackathon Championship is a programming marathon that is organised to get innovative ideas and solution for real life problems. GIFT students developed the App with an objective of finding out solution in health sector. The team received the coveted award with cash prize from the honourable Union Minister, Electronics & IT and Law & Justice, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad in the recently concluded #OpenGovDataHack National Challenge. It was organised by NIC, IAMAI in collaboration with StartupIndia as a part of the Start-up Eco-system Development Program held at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion as Guest of Honour, Shri Ajay Sawhney, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and IT lauded the efforts of the technocrats for giving a vent to their ideas for creating a better tomorrow. Interestingly, GIFT had won two previous National Hackathon Championships held at Guwahati and Noida in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
