Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has warned users to stay alert about the latest fake IRCTC App. IRCTC has advised users not to download a malicious file, named “irctcconnect.apk,” as it can steal valuable personal information from the users. IRCTC has also warned users of a fake website named ‘’irctc.creditmobile.site’’.

According to IRCTC, if an Android user accidentally downloads the malicious app, there are ample chances of data theft from the smartphone. On the other hand the phishing website ’irctc.creditmobile.site’ appears to be identical website of the official IRCTC website. Any information that is entered by a user including personal information can be misused against the users.

Similarly, many fraudsters are impersonating IRCTC officials and asking users to download an Android application. The app might ask users to enter their banking and UPI details and later use it for fraudulent activity.
