Apple rolls out iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5 update for iPhones, iPads, Check out the new features

Apple has rolled out the new iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 updates for its iPhones and iPads users just months after the release of iOS 15.4 update. The new update has brought some new changes and small features to the operating system.

New features in the iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 update

Let’s take a look at the some of the new features that you will get with the iOS 15.5 update.

Podcast application

One of the biggest changes is to the Podcast application. The Podcast app now has a new setting that allows the user to set the number of Podcast episodes that can be stored on an iPad or an iPhone. This new setting will delete the older podcasts stored on the device to maintain the number of episodes on the phone

Apple Pay Cash

Users can request or send money directly from the Apple Cash Card in Wallet, rather than first navigating to Messages. The Apple Pay Cash now have separate Request and Send buttons that make it easier for the user to manage the cash. In Messages though, Apple has renamed the Apple Pay Messages app to the Apple Cash Messages app, the report said.

Universal Control feature

Apple has finally rolled out the stable Universal Control feature in iPadOS 15.5. This feature will help user to control different iPads and Macs with the use of just one mouse or trackpad.

External Link Account Entitlement

The new iOS 15.5 update has also brought the ‘External Link Account Entitlement’ feature that will allow apps to add a link to an external website in order to manage their account and manage other things. For example, an app like Spotify will be able to provide a way to sign up for its services outside of Apple’s own App Store purchase system.

Other features

Apple has also introduced a new feature that can prevent images captured in specific locations from popping up on the Photo Memories. To do that you need to tag a location and the photos taken in that place will not show on Apple’s Photo Memories. Photos will no longer suggest memories taken in sensitive locations, such as Holocaust-related locations. After being removed in iOS 15.4, a third-party API to control music playback speed has been added back.

In addition, the iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 also has a host of security features with over 25 security fixes. These fixes have been mentioned on Apple’s official security support site.

Apple iOs 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 is compatible with iPhone 6s and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation).
