Apple rolls out iOS 15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1 update, Fixes some key issues on its devices

Earlier in this year (2022) Apple had introduced iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 for its mobile devices (iPhone and iPad devices). However, the users received lots of issue in their devices after the update. In order to fix the issues in the iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4, Apple has released two new updates. The Cupertino based tech giant has now launched iOS 15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1 updates in order to fix the latest issues generated after the installation of previous updates.

Issues and fixes

Unlike the previous update, the iOS 15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1 does not offer any new features but fixes some key issues on the Apple devices. The recent update fixes the battery drain issues on the iPad and iPhone which was caused by the iOS 15.4. On the iPad, the bugs in the previous update caused Braille devices to become unresponsive while navigating text or displayed an alert. This issue has also been fixed. The other major issue on the iPad (on 15.4 OS) was that, the made for iPad hearing devices used to lose connection within some third-party apps. The iPadOS 15.4.1 fixes this issue too.

Models

Apple iPad: The iPadOS 15.4.1 is available for all iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation).

Apple iPhone: The iPhone models that launched after iPhone 6s (including iPhone 6s) will receive the iOS 15.4.1 update.

How to install the update

If your Apple device is tuned to auto-update, you will automatically receive the update in the recent future. However, if you want to update it immediately, you have to follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Go to Settings
  • Select General
  • Software Update
  • Check for updates
  • Install the update

The iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 update that was launched in mid-March included several important changes. The 15.4 update gave an option for the users to use Face ID while wearing a mask or scarf. On the other hand, the iPadOS 15.4 introduced Universal Control, allowing multiple Macs and iPads to be controlled with the same mouse/trackpad and keyboard.
