Apple iPhones can be considered as one of the best pieces of portable technology currently available to us. Even though iPhones do not offer as many features as Android smartphones, there are some features that can come really handy in day to day life. Scan text by using your iPhone camera

Scanning a text and using it into a document can save you from a lot of extra work. The iOS 15 lets you use your iPhone camera to scan a text and use it in a document. The text can now be used in a document or email.

How to use this feature

  • Open a text field and long-press inside it
  • A scan text tool will appear on the screen
  • You can observe a scan icon in the scan text tool
  • Tap the button
  • Your iPhone’s viewfinder will be enabled
  • Point the camera of your iPhone towards the text
  • A live preview will be seen on the iPhone screen and an insert button will appear at the bottom

 

Move the address bar of the Safari browser to the top of your screen

Post Apple’s latest update, the address bar of the Safari browser has moved to the bottom of the screen. If this causes any inconvenience to you, it can be reset to the former way.

Tap the Aa button on the address bar. Cicking on the button will reset the address bar to the top of the screen.

 

Translate text on your iPhone

The Translate app on your iPhone lets you translate many languages into English. As Apple updated its devices to iOS 15 this feature also improved.

How to use this feature

  • Tap on the a particular segment of a text
  • The segment will be highlighted and an editing tool will appear above it
  • Select Translate option from the editing tool
  • You can translate the selected text into your desired language
  • The translation can also be listening by clicking the icon next to the translated text

Send your iCloud data to your contact

The iOS 15 lets you transfer your photos, messages, notes and passwords that are locked in your iCloud to your loved ones/ reliable ones in case of your death. This feature is known as Legacy Contact. In order to set this feature open settings> Your name>Password and Security> Legacy Contact. Add Legacy Contact and other credentials. However, iPhone users should keep this in mind that this feature is limited to developers only.

Real-time Weather alerts

The weather app on the iOS has significantly improved with due course of time. If you are running iOS 15 you can turn on new precipitation alerts and remain updated about any changes in the weather.

How to use this feature

  • Open the Weather App
  • Tap the three-line icon in the bottom right corner of the screen
  • Click on the circle icon with three dots in the top right corner
  • Turn the My Location to On and then tap done

Know more about the photos on your iPhone

If you want to know details about a photo in your gallery, you just have to swipe up. Every detail about the picture including its source can be tracked. If the picture is clicked on through a device, details like shutter speed, location and the camera used can be seen.

Different text size for different apps

The latest iOS 15 will let you choose different text size on different applications. In order to use a feature open settings> control center> text size (tap the green plus sign)

Henceforth whenever you open an app, you can make a choice to adjust the text size. Open the control center and tap text size button. Slide the button at the bottom of the screen to the left side of the toggle. This enables you to apply the changes only to the currently used app.
