Apple iPhone 14 Pro, Pro Max may feature reflective Face ID and pill-shaped camera cut-outs at front: Report

Rumours are rife about the upcoming iPhone 14 series. We have seen many leaks regarding the iPhone 14 Pro in the last few days.

Now new leak reports have revealed that the iPhone 14 Pro model smartphones will feature Face ID hardware and a pill-shaped punch-hole.

Apple has reportedly added two cut-outs in its next-generation displays, but one will be reflective and invisible.

But, we are not clear whether this will be in iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max. The reflective cut-out is said to be for Face ID and the pill shaped cut out will likely be for the selfie camera.

According to notebookcheck, tipster @dylandkt has suggested that Apple has placed Face ID hardware under the display, which will enable the company to remove the notch design from the next generation iPhones. The notch design has been present in all of Apple’s flagship smartphones since the iPhone X.

Furthermore, an alleged image of the rumoured iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max has been spotted online. The picture shows the display panel’s back, which has two cut-outs. One of the two cut-outs was believed to be for Face ID hardware, while the other one is for a front-facing camera.

In addition, the cut-out is expected to be reflective, meaning that it will not be visible when looking at the display.

Note that the company may bring the punch-hole displays only for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. So the basic iPhone 14 is likely to retain the notch. All models are expected to feature the A16 Bionic, believed to be another 5 nm SoC.
