YouTube classes for Odisha school students begin from today, See details

Bhubaneswar: Amid the closure of schools in Odisha due to a steep rise in COVID cases, the YouTube classes for students of standard 1 to 8 began from today.

Reportedly, the State government decided to conduct YouTube classes for students following the direction of the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA).

OSEPA has directed all District Education Officers (DEOs) to adopt necessary measures in this regard. The YouTube classes would be conducted five days a week from Monday to Friday. Each class will be of 30-minute duration. Though the classes will be streamed live, students can access them anytime.

Specific WhatsApp groups of teachers and students concerned will be created class-wise for proper communication. The links of live streaming will be shared in the group a day before, by 5 pm, added reports.

The District administrations will take necessary steps to create awareness at the community level for increasing participation of more students in the YouTube classes.

Notably, the Odisha government had started online classes on YouTube for students due to the COVID-19 second wave on June 21, 2021.

Odisha Health Services Director Bijay Kumar Mohapatra has said that COVID-19 is here to be there for quite some time and we are very likely to see many more variants of coronavirus in the near future as the viral evolution and mutation is a continuous process. Hence people need to be alert and adhere to COVID protocols, he added.
