Jajpur: In today’s development, one more body of a youth has been recovered from the Kharasrota River near Badasuar Bandhamunda ghat in Jajpur.
Reportedly, three more youths are still missing. As of now, the bodies of three youths have been recovered as they lost their lives after drowning in the Kharasrota River.
Notably, a group went to take bath in the river after playing Holi. However, six of them went missing after drowning in the river. The firefighters with the help of local people carried out a search operation to trace the missing youths. Later, a team of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) joined the operation and recovered two bodies, identified as Subham and Sambit.
The search operation was halted last night due to darkness and has been resumed this morning, said sources adding that the bodies of Subham and Sambit will be handed over to their family members after conducting a postmortem today.
Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended on the locality following the tragedy.
