Kendrapara: A youth paid a heavy price for loving his employer’s daughter in Bhekta village under Talachua Marine police limits in the district on Monday after he was stripped naked in front of the sarpanch and thrashed mercilessly by a group of people.
The incident came to light after the attackers filmed the whole incident on their mobile phones and later uploaded the clips on social media.
The victim youth who lived with his family in Bhekta village and worked for a prawn food trader of Sikaripahi area identified as Bulu Jena, had reportedly developed a love affair with the latter’s minor daughter a few months ago. However, he invited the wrath of his owner after eloping with the girl to Bhubaneswar to get married a few days ago.
A group of 7-8 aides of Bulu reached Bhubaneswar on Monday and took the couple with them back to the village. Later a Kangaroo court was held under the supervision of the village sarpanch where the youth was meted out the inhumane torture before the eyes of his father. He was also slapped with a fine of Rs 2 lakh for his mistake.
The victim has been admitted to Talacua Primary Health Centre (PHC) following the incident.
No police complaint has been lodged in the case so far.
