Balasore: Tension ran high in Karanjia area on the outskirts of Balasore town last night after a youth torched at least 6 two-wheelers following an argument with his family members.
As per the report, the accused identified as Sourabh Mohanty, a resident of Bhoi Sahi had an altercation with his father over his sister’s marriage over the phone last evening.
Later, as the verbal duel escalated further between the duo, the accused who was in an inebriated condition went on to torch at least six vehicles including scooters and bikes parked near his home.
Locals immediately swung into action and nabbed the accused following the incident.
Fire Brigade officials rushed to the spot and launched firefighting efforts later but till then all the vehicles had been completely reduced to ashes.
A case has been lodged at the local police station in connection with the case and an investigation is underway.
