Kalahandi: In an unfortunate incident a man was shot dead in Kuliamunda forest under Jaipatna police limits in Kalahandi district of Odisha on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Surendra Rout of Sabiguda village of Kalahandi.
According to reports, Surendra along with his four friends had gone to the forest for poaching on Tuesday morning.
While attempting to hunt an animal, Surendra was shot accidentally by one of his friends. He died on the spot.
A villager said, ” All the four people who went with Surendra for poaching were good natured and had no enmity among them.”
On being informed, the Jaipatna Police has initiated a probe into the matter.
