Balasore: A youth has been shot dead allegedly by a shop owner over the construction of a drain in Balasore district. The incident took place at Mandal Bazar under Town Police limits on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Panda.
Reportedly, an argument took place between Rajesh and the accused, Madha Padhi, over the construction of a drain in front of the latter’s shop.
Later as the situation escalated, Madha hit Rajesh on the head with a heavy object that was being used in the construction of the drain.
Following this, Madha surrendered at the Town Police Station. The body has been taken Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). The cops have initiated a probe into the matter.
