Angul: A young trader sustained critical bullet injuries after being shot at by some unidentified miscreants near Santhapada village under Talcher area last night.
The injured has been identified as Balaram Sahu, a resident of Ambapalas village under Kamakhyanagar police limits in Dhenkanal.
As per the report, Sahu was returning from Balaramprasad after completing some business related work on his motorcycle when the attack took place late in the night. A group of unidentified miscreants chased him and intercepted near Santhapada village to fire at least 3 rounds of bullet targeting him.
Sahu sustained gun shots on his shoulder and left chest and was rushed to Mandapala Hospital by some passers-by. Later he was shifted to Angul DHH due to deteriorating condition.
Police have started investigation into the incident and are trying to trace the miscreants who managed to escape from the spot.
A business rivalry is being suspected behind the attack.
