Youth nabbed from Kendrapara after stealing 18 iPhones from Hyderabad

Kendrapara: By cracking a costly mobile phone theft case which has taken place in the neighbouring Telengana State a few days back, Hyderabad Police today arrested the accused from Chandiagadi village under Aul police limits on last night.

As per the report, a team of Hyderabad Police assisted by Aul Police conducted a raid in the village of the accused identified as Rabindra Mallick and arrested him after seizing around 18 mobile phones.

The seized mobile phones are of iPhone brand and cost over 6 lakh, said police.

Rabindra who worked as a pipe fitter in Ramgopalpet area in Hyderabad and frequented a mobile shop located in the area had stolen a packet of iPhones from there before fleeing to Odisha.

Based on a CCTV footage available with the looted shop, Ramgopalpet Police team head Deb Suresh started an investigation and reached Aul last night. Later he carried out a raid with the help of Aul IIC Salil Pradhan and ASI Soumya Ranjan Panigrahi subsequently.

The team has returned to Hyderabad after taking custody of the accused.
