Jajpur: A youth met watery grave after slipping into a pond in Chhanchina village under Mangalpur police limits in Jajpur district today.
The deceased has been identified as Pabitra Rout, the son of Gourashyam Rout of the same village.

The deceased had been to attend nature’s call to a field near a pond that is right behind their house. However, as he did not return till late his family members started searching for him. Meanwhile, some villagers found his pant and shirt by the side of the pond and suspected that he might have drowned in the pond.
The villagers immediately informed Fire brigade in Dasarathpur. The fire tenders rushed to the spot and recovered his body from the pond. He was immediately rushed to Jajpur DHH, but the doctor at the hospital declared him brought dead.
Mangalpur Police have lodged a case in this matter and sent the body for autopsy test.
