Youth loses leg while trying to deboard wrong train in Odisha

Balangir: In an unfortunate incident, a youth lost his right leg while trying to deboard from a train which he had boarded mistakenly. The mishap took place at Kantabanji station of the district on Thursday.

According to reports, one Dusmanta Mahakud of Sanpada village in Kesinga area of Kalahandi district, had got into Visakhapatnam- Hazrat Nizamuddin Samta Express mistakenly instead of boarding his train at 1.25 pm today.

However, after realizing his mistake, Mahakud tried to get down from the train that was leaving the station. Unluckily, he lost control and fell on the railway tracks following which the train passed over his right left leg.

The railway protection force (RPF) personnel rescued the 23-year-old youth, who was bleeding profusely, and rushed him to Kantabanji hospital in a critical condition. Later, he was shifted to the district headquarters hospital as his condition deteriorated.
