Koraput: In a shocking road mishap a youth was killed after his bike was hit by a tipper truck at Malimurla Chhak on Kunduli-Deomali road today morning.
The deceased has been identified as Damu Singari, son of Rama Singari of Janiguda village.
Damu who left for Malimurla from his home early this morning on a bike bearing registration number- OD10F6932 was hit head-on by a tipper truck which was running in the opposite direction a few minutes later.
The crash took place after the truck driver lost control over the wheels due to some reason. The bike was stuck under the wheels of the truck (Registration Number-OD10B7889) and got dragged for a few meters killing the victim on the spot.
Police reached the spot later in the morning and rushed the deceased for an autopsy to a nearby hospital.
The truck involved in the accident has been seized and efforts are underway to trace the driver.
