Jagatsinghpur: A youth was killed after the scooter he was travelling by was mowed down by a dumper on Tulasi Gadi-Dhia Sahi stretch of National Highway-55 under Jagatsinghpur Sadar Police Station area last night.
The deceased has been identified as Brajakant Bardhan of Sanakeli village under Balikuda police limits.
Brajakant was en-route to his in-laws’ house in Chandura when the crash took place. The driver of a speeding truck lost control over the wheels and ended up hitting his vehicle from the front and causing a head injury.
While some bystanders rushed the victim to Jagatsinghpur DHH, doctors declared him brought dead there.
