Jajpur: A youth was killed after the bike he was travelling on was hit by a Hyva head-on at Bichhakhandi under Jenapur police limits in Jajpur district on Saturday.
While the identification of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, he is assumed to be a resident of Bichhakhandi.
As per the report, the victim was en-route to Jenapur in some work this morning when the crash took place. The driver of the Hyva bearing registration number-OD 04 L 2733 lost control over the wheels and ended up hitting the bike from the front near Bichhakhandi, killing the victim on the spot.
Jenapur Police rushed to the spot immediately after the incident and sent the body of the deceased for autopsy to Badachana hospital after seizing both the vehicles.
An investigation is underway to trace the absconding Hyva driver.
