Youth killed in capital city of Odisha, 2 women detained 4 arrested

Bhubaneswar: A youth has been brutally killed near Raghunath Nagar temple under Khandagiri police limits in capital city of Odisha on the intervening night between Sunday and Monday. Odisha Police detained two women and arrested four people in this connection.

The deceased youth has been identified as Sanatan Rautray (26). He used to own a mobile store in the area.

Reportedly, Sanatan was involved in an altercation with a group of miscreants over some unknown reason in inebriated state. Following this, all of them returned to their respective houses. Later, the miscreants asked Sanatan to come out of his house where the main accused, identifies as Raja, stabbed him to death in-front of his house and fled from the spot. The locals immediately informed to the local police.

On getting the information, Khandagiri police along with the forensic team arrived at the spot and sent Sanatan’s body for autopsy. The cops tracked the accused people and detained two women for interrogating along with people who have been arrested in connection with the murder. However, the main accused has gone absconding.

The cops have formed a special team to nab the main culprit. Meanwhile, the enraged locals have demolished the liquor store in the area.

Till the last reports came in, DCP Umashankar Das informed that the murder took place over past enmity between Sanatan and the accused group. A case has been filed against the six people, he added.
