Dhenkanal: In a horrific incident, the body of a youth was found with eyes gouged out near his house at Nityanandapur village under Nihalprasad Police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Purnachandra Behera. He was working at a crusher unit in the locality.
According to reports, Locals spotted the body of the youth with eyes gouged out near his house this morning.
On being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it to a hospital for autopsy test.
Though the exact cause behind the death of the youth is yet to be ascertained, prima facie it appeared that he was attacked over past enmity, police said.
The locals demanded stringent action against the culprits and adequate compensation for the family members of the deceased.
