Khordha: A youth was killed and another sustained critical injury after the bike they were travelling by a truck in Jatni area near here last night.
The deceased has been identified as Pradeep Ghadei of Sharadhapur area of Khordha. The injured is Sheikh Fariuddin of the same area.
As per the report, Pradeep and Fariuddin were heading towards Khordha Town on a bike late in the night yesterday when the mishap took place. The driver of a speeding truck which was coming from the opposite direction drove his vehicle extremely left and ended up hitting the bike from the front at Jatni bank chhak.
While Pradeep died on the spot Fariuddin who was riding pillion on the bike sustained grievous injury and rushed to a nearby hospital subsequently.
Police seized the bike after sending the body for an autopsy later in the night.
