Youth make Ganesh puja celebration simple to cloth widows, divyangs Titilagarh: The youth of Kuskela village under Titilagarh block in Balangir district celebrated Ganesh puja in a very simple manner so as to help the widows, divyangs and the elderly people of the area.

The local youths did not spend money on a grand, colourful immersion ceremony with lights and sound. Instead, they set an example for others by making use of the money to buy clothes for the underprivileged people of the village, an act highly appreciated by the people that has become the talk of the district.

Members of Radha Krishna Sanskrutika Kala Parishad decided to bring a smile on the face of the deprived sections of the locality by distributing clothes to them while celebrating Ganesh Puja.

They distributed clothes to around 100 widows, senior citizens and differently-abled persons of the village and the nearby village.

All the recipients expressed their gratitude to the members of the association.

“We are extremely happy that we were given new clothes by the youths who did not spend money on  a grand celebration of Ganesh puja. Instead, used the money to buy clothes for us. This is a unique and noble step taken by the youths which I saw for the first time in my life. May god bless all of them,” said Laxmi Majhi after getting a saree.

“It is a dream come true for me as I get a new clothes very rarely. Others must learn and make use of the money properly as the youths of our village have done. May Ganapati baba keep them hale and hearty,” said Priyanka Patra, a divyang.

Titilagarh Municipality Chairperson Gobardhan Nag, Block Cahirman Ramankanti Putel, Social activist Lalit Sahu and youth leader Pramod Pradhan attended the clothe distribution ceremony and highly appreciated the exemplary action of the local youths.
