Jagatsinghpur: A youth sustained bullet injuries after being shot at by a miscreant over past enmity in Alabar village under Balikuda police limits in Jagatsinghpur last night.
The victim has been identified as Debraj Biswal of Balisahi village under same police limits.
As per the report, Debraj was en-route to his home late last night after some work when members of a rival gang waylaid him and opened fire. He sustained a bullet injury on his left thigh and bled profusely.
Some bystanders took Debraj to Jagatsinghpur DHH first and then shifted to SCB Medical in Cuttack for treatment.
While the local police have lodged a case in connection with the attack, it said some members of a rival group who had been released on bail the previous day might have carried out the firing.
