Keonjhar: A youth sustained serious injuries in a bear attack near Kodapada village under Anandpur police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Thursday.
The victim, identified as Sriram Majhi, was attacked by two bears early in the morning when he went to the nearby forest produce such as leaves and teeth cleaning twig or datum.
Majhi suffered grievous injuries in his legs. However he managed to escape from the claws of the bears and returned the village.
The family members, with the help of locals, rushed him to the Sub-Divisional Hospital in Anandpur for treatment. His condition was stable, when the last reports came in.
On being informed, local forest officials reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
