Youth impregnates minor girl on pretext of marriage in outskirts of Bhubaneswar, Arrested

Bhubaneswar: In a shameful incident, a youth impregnated a minor girl on the pretext of marriage in the Chandaka area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar and has been arrested by Commissionerate Police in this connection.

The arrested accused has been identified as Deepak Jani. He was working as a driver in a studio in Kantabada area under ​​Chandka police limits.

Reportedly, Deepak confessed his feelings to the minor girl and gave her false hopes to get married in 2021. The incident continued a couple of times, added reports. Later after learning about the minor’s pregnancy, he fled and stopped all contact with her. He had even forced her to abort the pregnancy.

However, two days ago, the minor contacted Deepak again and he refused to keep any contact with her. Adding to it, he also allegedly threatened to kill her.

The police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act after a written complaint was lodged with the Chandka police station and a probe was initiated. He was also interrogated by the cops at the police station on Wednesday and he will be forwarded to the court today.
