Balasore: Proving eve teasing to be dear for a youth locals tied him to a tree and thrashed mercilessly in Gop village under Jaleswar police limits today.
The accused identified as Sahil Khan (23) of Panchughanta village was reportedly involved in passing derogatory remarks against college girls and women in the locality for past few months. After the victims complaint about the matter to their families a group of people including women in Gop village nabbed the accused today and punished in full public view.
Police rushed to the spot after getting intimation on the incident and intervened to rescue the accused later.
An investigation is underway in the case.
