Keonjhar: Tension prevailed in Chikinia village under Ghatagaon police limits in the district on Thursday after a youth committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree.
The deceased has been identified as Makuri Mohanta, son of Raiter Mohanta of the same village.
Makuru, who went to sleep after having his dinner last night went missing from home in the wee hours today. His body was spotted hanging to a tree by a saree in the village this morning by some locals.
Ghatagaon Police seized the body of the deceased for autopsy reaching the spot later in the day.
While the deceased’s family members failed to ascertain the cause behind his suicide, police is waiting for the postmorteim report.
