Bhubaneswar: A youth has been allegedly hacked to death following an argument between two groups over the New Year feast at Nuasahi in the Sundarpada area of Bhubaneswar on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Dipu Raut.
Reportedly, a group of youths was having a feast and were celebrating New Year’s Eve in the Nuasahi area of Sundarpada. During this moment, some youths from the Kapileswar area rushed to the feast spot in an inebriated state and started shouting using slang.
Thereafter, the drunken youths of the Kapileswar area began attacking the other youths with a sword. As a result, Dipu was hacked to death at the spot.
On getting the information, Airfield police arrived at the spot, recovered the body, and sent for autopsy. The police have initiated a probe into the death case.
