Khordha: In a shocking incident, a youth was hacked to death by none other than his cousin (father’s elder brother’s son) two day before his marriage in Deuli village in Bolagarh block in Khordha district.
The deceased has been identified as Chinmay Sahu. His marriage was scheduled for February 21.
Sahu was on his way to some work riding his bike this noon when the attack took place. The attacker hacked him with a sharp weapon before fleeing away from the spot. The victim died on the spot.
Tension ran high in the village after the attack and angry locals set the house of the accused on fire.
Police have reached the spot and seized the body for autopsy.
While the accused is on the run, the cause behind the attack is said to be a long running family feud.
