Puri: In a tragic incident, a youth drowned while taking bath in the sea near Zone Number 23 of Odisha’s Puri district. The deceased has been identified as Devraj Mukherjee of West Bengal.
Devraj Mukherjee reportedly visited the Pilgrim City along with some people and had gone to the sea beach to take a baht. However, he slipped into the deep water of the sea and drowned.
Lifeguards and Firefighters who were present on the sea beach immediately swung into action after noticing Devraj drowning and rescued him.
Devraj was rushed to Puri District Headquarter Hospital for treatment without any delay. Unfortunately, he breathed his last while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
