Paradeep: The body of a youth was found hanging from a tree near Jagatigada at Bhutamundai on the side of NH 5(A) in Odisha’s Paradeep on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Brundaban Pradhan, a resident of Bainda village in Talcher area of Angul district.
According to reports, Pradhan was working as a helper of a truck. Like several other trucks, the vehicle in which he was working was parked along the Paradip-Chandikhol National Highway due to the ongoing lockdown imposed by the government to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The locals spotted the body of Pradhan early in the morning and alerted the police.
Paradeep Lock police reached the spot and seized the body for autopsy test.
“The exact reason of the death of Pradhan will be ascertained after the post-mortem report comes and further investigation is on,” a police official said.
