Pottangi: A youth had a narrow escape after falling off the Gali Gabdar waterfall under Nuagaon panchayat in Koraput district on Thursday. He was trying to pose for a photo when the incident took place.
The injured has been identified as Subrat Nag (24), a resident of Kalahandi district and an employee of Meena Bazar shopping arcade.
Subrat, who visited Gali Gabdar waterfall along with a group of friends, was taking bath in the streams when the mishap took place. He lost footing on the bedrock while posing for a photo mid-water, believed to be due to algae and fell from a height of around 50 feet.
The victim was rushed to Pottangi CHC in an unconscious state by his friends immediately after the mishap and was later shifted to Koraput medical college and hospital due to deteriorating condition.
Police have reached the hospital and started investigation into the incident.
