Sambalpur: A youth was electrocuted to death after coming in contact with high power transmission wire in Jujumura area here today.
The deceased has been identified as Padmalochan Biswal (36) of the same area.
As per the report, Padmalochan was disconnecting a power cable from a water pump installed at his house in the morning when the mishap took place. Unknowingly, he touched the open end of the wire and received an electric shock.
The victim was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in critical condition following the mishap and succumbed under treatment.
Police have lodged a case of unnatural death in connection with the incident and started an investigation.
