Puri: A youth met watery grave while taking bath in the sea near Baliharchandi temple in the religious town Puri today.
The deceased has been identified as Santosh Kumar, a resident of Puri Shri Vihar area.
Santosh who visited Baliharachandi areas along with some friends in the noon later went to take bath in the sea when the mishap. He was swept away by the strong current and went missing in the water.
After the victim’s friends failed to rescue his body from the water and called up Brahmagiri fire brigade office, the latter rushed to the spot for assistance.
The body was recovered from the beach in the afternoon and sent to Rebana Community Health Centre (CHC) for autopsy.
A case of unnatural death has been lodged in connection with the incident.
