Youth critically injured in acid attack in Nuapada

Nuapada: A youth sustained critical burn injuries after miscreants hurled acid at him following an altercation in Bangomunda village under Lakhan police limits in Nuapada district last night.

The victim has been identified as Alok Sahu of the same locality.

As per the report, a verbal duel erupted between Alok and a group of people in the village over a petty issue which escalated into a heated argument later. In a fit of rage, somebody from the group threw acid at the victim to settle the score.

Alok was rushed to Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in critical condition by some locals post the attack and is currently under treatment.

Local Police rushed to the spot and lodged a case in connection with the attack.

No arrests have been made in the case so far.
