Kendrapara: A youth turned critical after being attacked by a girl and her family members in Darabachha village under Marshaghai police limits in Kendrapra district over unknown reason.
The victim identified as Raj Kishore Dash (25) has been admitted to hospital following the incident.
Raj, who visited the house of the accused girl in the morning in some work was reportedly attacked by a sharp knife by her kin. They allegedly tried to slit the throat of the victim leaving him to bleed profusely.
Some locals rushed to the spot hearing the screaming of the youth and rescued him to send to Marshaghai Community Health Centre (CHC) from where he was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) and then to SCB Medical in Cuttack due to deteriorating condition.
While the kin of the victim have claimed that the accused family had called up him to their house with an ulterior motive, the girl has alleged that he was harassing her.
