Youth Cong tears down PM’s poster from petrol pumps to protest fuel price hike

Bhubaneswar: Protesting the fuel price hike, the youth wing of Odisha Congress tore down Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s poster here on Sunday.

Many activists of Odisha Pradesh Youth Congress (OPYC) led by OPYC president Loknath Maharathi staged a demonstration and tore down Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s poster installed at Delta Square petrol pump shouting anti-BJP slogans.

The protesters alleged that the Modi Government came to power by giving the promise of ‘acche din’, however, it has failed to keep its promise.

While the International fuel prices are bearable, the petrol and diesel prices are burning a hole in the pockets of commoner, they added.

Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police detained around ten protesters including OPYC president from the spot.

Hundreds of activists of Biju Yuva Janata Dal and Biju Chhatra Janata Dal also on Saturday had staged peaceful demonstration for three hours at various oil outlets across the state protesting petrol and diesel price hike.
