Youth charred to death as bike hits roadside tree, catches fire in Odisha’s Ganjam dist

Bhanjanagar: In a tragic incident a youth charred to death along with his bike in Ganjam district of Odisha on Thursday. While the rider was killed on the spot the pillion rider sustained critical injury and admitted to hospital. The incident took place at the Baradanda village chowk under Tarasingi Police limits in Ganjam district.

The deceased has been identified as Kahnu Nayak of Benipalli village under Gangapur police station. The other person who sustained grievous injury has been identified as Sagar Behera of Kabisuryanagar police station area.
As per reports, the two young men were on their way to Dasapalla from Bhanjanagar on a bike. The moving bike skidded off the road and hit a roadside tree. As a result, while the rider was engulfed in flames and died on the spot the pillion rider sustained critical injury.

The locals then rushed the injured person to Bhanjanagar hospital. However, as his health condition deteriorated he was then shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

After being alerted Tarasingi Police reached the spot and seized the dead body. Further investigation of the case is underway.
