Mayurbhanj: In a shocking incident, a youth has allegedly bludgeoned his girlfriend to death in Raidhihi village under Khunta police limits of the Mayurbhanj district.
The deceased has been identified as Buddhuni Hembram, a resident of Sapanchua village.
Reportedly, Buddhuni was in a relationship with the accused Munu Tudu, a resident of Basipitha village. Thereafter, Buddhuni went to take a bath near a river flowing near Raidihi while Munu followed her.
Later, an argument took place between the couple while they had gone to Raidihi and they attacked each other brutally.
Munu attacked Budhuni with a big stone in an enraged state of mind following which she fell on the ground. Later, Munu bludgeoned her to death with the stone. Munu also sustained critical injuries during the scuffle.
On getting the information, Khunta police arrived at the spot and recovered the body. The body was sent for post-mortem to a nearby hospital.
Police have also detained the accused Munu for questioning. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the actual cause behind Buddhuni’s death, said a police official.
