Jajpur: A youth was mercilessly beaten to death by none other than his father over a family feud in Pabana village under Jajpur Sadar police limits in the district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Harendra Behera.
A dispute erupted between Harendra and his father Bidyadhar late in the night following which the incident took place. Harendra, who had returned home in an inebriated condition indulged in a verbal duel with his father over opening the gate and attacked him with a stick in which he sustained head injury. As Bidyadhar retaliated by attacking with a wooden club, the son died on the spot.
Jajpur Sadar Police sent the body for postmortem after reaching the spot and arrested the accused father.
