Bhubaneswar: Chandrasekharpur police today arrested a youth for harassing a college girl who attempted suicide by jumping from the roof a building in the area on Tuesday.
The girl whose condition is critical is currently undergoing treatment at a city-based private hospital.
Police said that the accused identified as Prakash Parida, working as a visual editor in Odia cine industry has been harassing the girl for past few months.
“The accused proposed the victim several times but the victim continued to decline his proposal. Later the accused threatened the girl to circulate her photographs on social media. As a result of which the girl took the extreme step,’ said a police official.
